Butter or Butter-Garlic Bread

Ingredients:
French Bread, homemade or store bought (up to you)
Butter
Ground Garlic, for Butter-Garlic

Items needed:
Cutting board
Aluminum foil
Small pan, for Butter-Garlic Bread
Basting Brush
Kitchen knife, for Butter Bread
Bread knife

Directions:
Cut the French bread 3/4 to the bottom for each section you make. The sections are usually about 1/2 – 1 in apart. I NEVER cut it all the way through simply because you can pull it apart after it’s baked.

Tear an amount of foil that will cover the bread complete. Carefully place your bread onto the foil. (I never cut it while it’s on the foil, because sometime I have accidently cut straight thought the bread … hey, I am not prefect)

Butter Bread:  Between each section of bread, place a small amount of butter. Too much will make it soggy, just enough off the top with a knife will work.

Butter-Garlic Bread:  Melt about 2 TBSP of butter. Once this is melted, add in Garlic (to taste), you can mix it with the basting brush (to save on how much you have to wash later Winking smile). Once this is done, using the basting brush, put Butter-Garlic between each section of bread, you can cover both sides if you choose or just one. If you have extra Butter-Garlic left over, spread it across the top of the bread.

Pulling foil over the top of the bread, fold edges down until it touch the top of the bread. Then folding the side edges in to touch the side of bread.

Preheat oven to 450F. Bake bread for about 5 – 10 min. For Butter bread, you might need to bake a few minutes longer.
Once it’s done, carefully pull the foil apart & enjoy.

When I am severing guests, I simply leave it in the foil & place it on a plate. This helps keeps the bread warm.

On a side note, you can also freeze this bread for later, once it’s in the foil. Just make sure to mark it, with name & date!!!
